The Museum of Cannock Chase is inviting children and their families to visit a new exhibition focused on the 1950s.

The show, which runs until Sunday, August 14, is titled The 1950s – Having it so Good. Museum staff say is an "interactive exhibition" exploring everyday life and events of the era.

Visitors to the Valley Road museum can study photographs, posters, adverts and objects focused on everything from the Queen's Coronation to the Suez Crisis.

Children can also pick up an activity pack with lots of fun things to do at the museum and at home.

Councillor Christine Mitchell, portfolio leader of culture and sport at Cannock Chase Council, said: "I would encourage everyone to go along and visit the Museum of Cannock Chase to enjoy a trip down memory lane."

The museum in Hednesford is also offering a variety of free drop-in workshops for children this summer. Call 01543 877666.
