The stage is set, the lights are up – all is ready on Cannock Chase for the entrance of Erasure and Simple Minds.

The final touches are being put to the specially-constructed stage on the Chase as thousands prepare to descend for weekend concerts.

The Forestry Commission is hopeful that both tomorrow night's show featuring Erasure and Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Saturday's Simple Minds concert will be sell outs.

Tonday only about 100 tickets were left for Erasure and 250 for the Scottish rock band. Birches Valley site manager Alistair Semple, pictured, said preparations were on schedule with the stage roof put in place yesterday.
