Bieber Fever well and truly hit the NIA last night in the first of two sell-out shows that saw a rapturous welcome for the 17-year-old Canadian.
But like him or not, Bieber - who has a whopping 7.8 million fans on Twitter - has created a frenzy among teeny-boppers.
And last night, fans brandishing I Love Justin Bieber and Bieber Fever posters and T-shirts were proof that his popularity shows no signs of waning any time soon.
Warming up for Bieber was Willow, daughter of Hollywood A-listers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith who were watching from the wings.
The youngster had a video introduction from megastar rapper Jay Z before bursting on to the stage in a blue-and-pink tracksuit to the kind of reception usually reserved for headline acts.
The 10-year-old sang three songs including hit Whip My Hair, and got the crowd into a frenzy before the star attraction.
With Bieber's fans screaming when pretty much anything happened, even when the technical crew started setting up the stage, the sensation finally emerged in a silver-and-white suit, kicking off his set with Love Me, followed by Bigger.
The show had every element of cliche, from a rendition of One Last Lonely Girl during which he plucked a girl from the audience, serenaded her and gave her a bunch of roses, as well as out-and-out cheese when, armed with an acoustic guitar, he sat in a heart-shaped rig hanging from the ceiling to sing Never Let You Go and Favourite Girl.
And he played no less than three instruments drums, guitar and piano.
But the uptempo tracks such as Somebody To Love and a performance of Never Say Never, for which he was joined by the other Smith child Jaden, of Karate Kid fame, are what really went down well with the crowd of mostly teenage girls, who screamed almost non-stop during the 90-minute set.
Miming debate aside, in the eyes of his fans Bieber can do no wrong and he does put on a good show. Among the fans who caught the show last night was Amy Brennan, aged 25, from Tipton, who took along five-year-old daughter Ella Harrison, who was chanting "Justin, Justin, Justin".
Amy said: "My daughter is a big Justin Bieber fan, she loves all of his songs, especially Baby, and it was such a good night."
Jason Mills, aged 35, from Acocks Green, Birmingham, took young sons Keaton, four, and Cavan, six. Cavan said: "I saw him on the music channel and liked him from then."
Sisters Emily and Mollie Gearey, aged 12 and eight, had come from Nuneaton with friends Georgia Holligan, 11, and Isla Macdonald, 12.
Emily said: "Our favourite song was Baby which he saved until the end. We have been fans for a couple of years so it was great to see him. He is just beautiful."
Amy Richardson, aged 16, Karin Samro, 15, Kerry-Leigh Smith, 16 and Monique Liddar, aged 15 all travelled from Coventry.
Kerry-Leigh said: "We loved all his songs and his hair looked nice, but I preferred it the old way." Jade Palmer, 11, and Emily Grenville, 12, had travelled from Nottingham. Jade said: "We loved all of his songs, I love his looks and his hair.
"The best bit was That Should Be Me, it was such a good show my ears are ringing."
