Sounds of Space will show wonders of universe

The European premiere of The Planets – An HD Odyssey is among the highlights of Sounds of Space, a weekend of events next month in Birmingham.

The latest images from NASA will be featured in a performance of Gustav Holst's famous suite by the Houston Symphony as part of the season taking place over October 7-9 at the Town Hall and Symphony Hall.

A mix of live experiences will see classical, contemporary and jazz music performed along with talks on alien science and space tourism, a free family day and an outdoor photographic exhibition.

Roxy Music keyboardist and legendary music producer Brian Eno's seminal album, Apollo: For All Mankind, will be performed by a 15-piece ensemble on October 9, backed by a screening of NASA footage.
