Star-studded line-up for a Grand summer

A star-studded line-up of TV favourites, comedians and performers including Leslie Grantham, Wayne Sleep and Neil Morrisey will be taking to the stage at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre.

A star-studded line-up of TV favourites, comedians and performers including Leslie Grantham, Wayne Sleep and Neil Morrisey will be taking to the stage at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre.

New shows include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, High School Musical 2 and Cabaret.

It comes after Neighbours star Stefan Dennis was named as a star of this year's pantomime, Cinderella, alongside The Krankies.

Veteran dancer Wayne Sleep will take on the role of Emcee in Cabaret alongside Samantha Barks, who made it to the final three contestants in BBC One show I'd Do Anything. The show is from June 1 to 6.

The best of the region's amateur talent will tread the boards of the Lichfield Street venue in the grand finale of Wolverhampton's Top Talent on June 20.

The show will feature singers, musicians, bands and dancers.

Bilston Operatic Society will take to the stage in The King and I from June 23 to 27, and colourful musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat will be on from June 30 to July 5.

The show will star Craig Chalmers, who made it through to the finals of TV's Any Dream Will Do. A stellar cast including Leslie Grantham, Bad Girls' Paul Opacic, and Emmerdale actors Helen Weir and Christopher Villiers, will perform in mystery thriller Write Me A Murder from July 7 to 11.

Actress Bernie Nolan is to star in The Tart And The Vicar's Wife from July 14 to 18. And Former EastEnder Hannah Waterman will star alongside The Bill's Richard Stockwell in Killing Time from July 21 to 25.

The stage will be feature a flying car for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from July 29 to August 15 and Victoria Wood's The Dinnerladies will be transferred from TV screen to stage from September 28 to October 3.

The show will feature Andrew Dunn and Shobna Gulati from the original TV cast. South Staffs Musical Theatre Company will stage My Fair Lady from October 6 to 10, while High School Musical 2 runs from October 20 to 24. Oscar-winning film Rain Man will be performed on stage from November 2 to 7, starring Neil Morrisey.
