Flamboyant guitarist Dave Hill took centre stage as the band, made up of half the original line-up, belted out their biggest hits in front of more than 550 people at Bilston's Robin 2 club last night.

Creating an electric atmosphere in the intimate setting of the music venue, the band rocked the stage by displaying the type of energy that belies the ages of these band members, one of whom – Don Powell – is three years away from being a pensioner.

Before the show Dave Hill, who grew up on the Warstones estate in Penn, told the Express & Star Wolverhampton was "a very special place" to perform because "it was where it all started for the band."

Wearing glittery black suit jackets and white and black trousers they belted out classics including Coz I Luv You, Take Me Bak 'Ome, and Merry Christmas Everybody.

In between each numbers Hill shouted out things like "It's good to be in Bilston".

Keith Chater, aged 48, of Cornwall, said: " I've got a tattoo of them on my arm. All the songs are superb."
