Oasis fans were in Birmingham in their thousands for the band's return to the city last night.
Oasis fans were in Birmingham in their thousands for the band's return to the city last night.
At the National Indoor Arena the Mancunian superstars took to the stage after support band Twisted Wheel, kicking off with a classic from debut album Definitely Maybe – Rock 'n' Roll Star – and bringing the packed arena alive.
Even 14 years after finding fame it was clear early albums Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory are still the main draw. This might have been the tour to promote new album Dig Out Your Soul, but it was the 1990s stuff which made up the memorable moments of the set list.
Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic, Slide Away and Wonderwall were all served up as were later songs like the Importance of Being Idle and Go Let It Out. Liam was in usual static mode but was as full of attitude as ever belting out classics and new material from their seventh album.
Oasis return to the NIA tonight as part of a tour which sees the band playing 18 shows across the UK.
