From the moment you first walk through the door it is not hard to see why the pub, in Gospel End Road, is such a favourite with regulars.

Like many pubs nowadays the focus of the venue is on food and there is a large eating area for visitors to enjoy their meals. The menu is varied and offers a wide range of food, including favourites such as fish and chips, burgers and curries.

For those with their waistlines firmly in mind there is also a selection of salads, pasta dishes and jacket potatoes to choose from.

Light bite options are available and at the moment there is a special offer on that menu which means diners can also have a pudding as well at a cheaper price.

Going in on a week day lunchtime, the pub was quite busy but there was still plenty of space to choose from.

Food is ordered from the bar and all of the staff were very friendly and seemed happy to help.

I ate with two companions who opted for the light bites menu and chose the plain beef burgers. I opted for the jacket potato with cheese, salsa and sour cream along with a side order of garlic bread and cheese. The meals were quick to arrive and well prepared with a surprising amount of food on the two light bite meals.

My jacket potato was cooked just right and there was a generous helping of toppings. The same was true for the garlic bread.

My companions assured me the burgers were also of the same high quality and were served with peas and chips. After the meal the two puddings (I was full and decided not to have one this time around) arrived quickly and were again nicely prepared.

The food was very reasonably priced with all of the meals coming to under £10.

The car park is large and has lots of spaces with excellent access from the main road. For people who do not want to eat in the dining area there are also tables in the bar.

Food is served all day and whether you are looking for a lunchtime snack or a tea time treat The Seven Stars is definitely worth a look.
