Cannock Chase

Amanda Milling (Con)* (New candidate, Aidan Burley standing down)

I'm Staffordshire born and bred which means I have a real connection here. As a resident of Brereton, Rugeley I know the Cannock Chase area is a fantastic place to live. Under the Conservatives, we have made real progress since 2010 - unemployment and crime are both down, investment has been secured to upgrade the Chase Line and we saved Cannock Chase Hospital from closure. I know the work isn't over yet, that's why I will fight tirelessly every single day to make sure Cannock Chase is an even better place to live, work and run a business.

Janos Toth (Lab)

For me, Cannock Chase comes first. I've lived here for 26 years and raised my family here. I know that people don't feel better off under the Tories. I will always put Cannock Chase first before Westminster and get the best deal for local people.

My local plan is fix the NHS across Cannock Chase and secure the future of Stafford and Cannock Hospitals; bring new companies and jobs to Rugeley, Hednesford and Cannock; build new council homes for rent and provide affordable homes to buy; keep Cannock Chase Forest public and protect the green belt; work to close the Poplars Waste Tip.

Grahame Wiggin (UKIP)

Cannock Chase normally blazes a trail for the way the country votes. We can lead again. To bring an end to unfettered immigration, to throwing money at the EU and nations that don't need it or abuse it. We will save the EU fee of £8bn pa and put £3bn into the NHS to keep it free at point of use, increase the personal tax allowance to the minimum wage, scrap the bedroom tax and protect the green belt. This is not revolutionary, it is UKIP common sense. Please vote Grahame Wiggin and Cannock Chase will make it happen.

Paul Woodhead (Green)

I stand for social and environmental justice a reflection of the true values of Cannock Chase. To vote for the Green Party on 7 May is to say yes to better trains, run totally for the benefit of the public, to say yes to an stable publicly run NHS, say yes to a living wage of £10 per hour for everyone, say yes to a fair economy that works for all, say yes to decent, secure and affordable housing, say yes to free high quality education with no tuition fees and say yes to a safe climate with fossil-free, affordable energy

Lichfield

Michael Fabricant (Con)*

I work hard for local people in the Constituency and Parliament answering up to 400 letters, emails and phone calls a week from constituents and visit local people and organisations. I resigned from the Government front bench as a matter of principle to help lead the campaign to stop HS2 ploughing through Lichfield. I campaign hard to promote Lichfield, Burntwood and south Staffordshire's economy as a tourist, business and conference destination and I'm an active fund raiser for charities and organisations. I'm an active campaigner whether it be opposition to over-development, large wind turbines or excessive gravel extraction from our countryside.

Robert Pass (Green)

We need a brave and bold government to invest in public services and green job creation in order to make the transition to a sustainable economy. We can see increased powers for local people, increased transparency in our public institutions and tackle the vested interests that have corrupted our politics.

I'm proud to stand as Green Party candidate in my home town for an economy that functions in the interests of the common good, for a society that is fair and democratic and a planet that is habitable for future generations.

Chris Worsey (Lab)

I am a Labour Councillor in Sandwell and chair of the Black Country Youth Unemployment Commission. I was brought up in Great Wyrley and played cricket for Lichfield Cricket Club.

I am also the founder of a technology social enterprise that specialises in training young people in digital skills. I am passionate about social justice, tackling youth unemployment and social enterprise. I hold a BA in English Literature and International Politics from Keele University and a MA in Public Policy from the University of Warwick.

I am working hard for every vote. I love Lichfield and it would be an honour to represent it in Parliament.

South Staffordshire

Kevin McElduff (Lab)

I am already being contacted by people concerned about GP services in South Staffs. Our doctors work hard but the changes to primary care and the crisis in A&E services is putting general practice under huge pressure. For all of us and for older people in particular this is a real local problem. I want to work with General Practitioners and patients to make sure Labour's guarantee of a GP appointment in 48 hours is fully funded and focused on creating an NHS with time to care.

Lyndon Jones (UKIP)

I have lived in South Staffordshire for 20 years and have been a local councillor and a candidate in the 2014 European elections. I believe strongly that Britain should retain its sovereignty and the British people should be given a referendum on our membership of the EU and that decisions about issues in the UK should be made in the UK. I oppose the current policy of building major housing estates on green belt land. It is UKIP policy to give local people a referendum on major developments planned in their areas.

Claire McIlvenna (Green)

I live in Wombourne and have done so for nearly 50 years. I am married with three children and have worked in the Health and Social care sector for nearly 30 years. I currently work as a counsellor for a charitable organisation based in Wolverhampton and have always been involved in work that is directly linked to helping those that are in need or disadvantaged, more generally.

I have always strove to promote inclusivity, equality and social justice in any way I can. I have a particular interest in climate change and promoting mitigation and adaption strategies to address the current dilemma our planet faces.

Gavin Williamson (Con)*

I will continue to be a strong voice for South Staffordshire. I have fought against excessive development, fly-tipping and traveller sites, protecting our green belt. I worked hard bringing JLR here and will ensure we remain an appealing area for businesses. I will be proactive in supporting manufacturing, creating more jobs and apprenticeships, backing rural businesses and village centres. I will fight for fairer funding and investment for schools to give our children the best start in life. I was involved in the EU Referendum Bill and I will continue to push for EU reform and a reduction in immigration

Stafford

Kate Godfrey (Lab)

Five years of Tory government have hit Stafford hard. Stafford hospital downgraded; the first £1b NHS privatisation introduced here, our university transferred and cuts to children's services proportionately in the top 5 per cent nationwide.

If I'm elected as Stafford's MP, you'll see change.

I'll put an immediate stop to the £1.2b NHS privatisation, continue my legal fight for service restoration at Stafford Hospital, and protect our children's centres from closure. I'll end the schools shortage and vote against regressive measures like the Tory VAT increase.

Stafford will have an MP who stands up for our town – and for you.

Karen Howell (NHA)

As a founder of Support Stafford Hospital, I have been fighting over three years for A&E, Critical Care, Consultant Maternity and Paediatrics to remain at Stafford.

I organised the Public March, where 50,000 people supported their hospital, its services and hardworking staff - we were ignored.

Our hospital acute services have been dismantled: mainstream political parties have failed Stafford for too long.

If, like me, you are angry and want to make a stand for Stafford Hospital, the NHS, public services, fight austerity cuts and inequalities then vote for me.

As MP, not subject to political whip, I will put people before politics.

Jeremy Lefroy (Con)*

Stafford constituency is a great place to live and work. The number out of work in Stafford constituency has fallen sharply since 2010. But I will continue to work for full and properly-paid employment.

I am passionate about our NHS. Our hospital has been through difficult times and now provides excellent care. I will fight for a return to 24/7 A&E with paediatric services and consultant-led maternity.

I will again argue for fairer schools funding, sustainable development and will oppose HS2. I will support proper defence funding. A Conservative Government will hold an In/Out EU referendum by 2017.

Life could be so much better. If we radically re-arranged the country's finances, real needs could be catered for and environmental damage constrained.

The inadequate provisions in the NHS ,social care for the elderly, housing supply , youth services and other vital services could all be remedied by fair and responsible taxation and spending. So, for example, HS2 would be axed and money would be raised to pay for essentials by taxing bankers financial transactions and aviation fuel .

I have lived in Stafford for over 40 years and am a former Mayor and Councillor of Stafford Borough.

Stone

Sir Bill Cash (Con)*

I will campaign for, protection of pensions; resisting disproportionate housing in Gnosall and Eccleshall; fighting for Stafford Hospital, its return to 24/7 A&E, paediatrics, consultant-led maternity and a strong UHNM; opposing eyesore wind turbines; opposing HS2 and urge proper compensation; retention of local banks; controlling welfare budget & reward work; cracking down on tax avoidance; backing small business; controlling immigration; resisting EU integration; holding EU Referendum; cutting income tax for 30 million people; raising 40p tax threshold; women and girls' empowerment; tax free childcare.

John Coutouvidis (Independent)*

Sam Hale (Labour)

I am proud to stand for my community and home constituency. Over the last 5 years, we have seen our country become one in which food banks are the norm, 400,000 disabled people have been hit with a cruel Bedroom Tax, and where multi-national corporations can dodge tax whilst most people pay their fair share. I am fighting for an economy that serves the many, not an elite few, a society that protects the weakest and poorest amongst us, and to protect our NHS by stopping private providers creaming off profits that should be spent on patient care.

Andrew Illsley (UKIP)

Stone constituency has much to offer but has its fair share of issues too. The decline of Stafford Hospital is truly shocking. I'll do all I can to restore much needed services for this area. My support of local opposition to HS2 is relentless. Vigorous local campaigns must be heard so that this unnecessary project which we simply can't afford is scrapped. Protecting our wonderful green landscapes from new housing schemes and campaigning against wind turbines are matters on which I want local people's voices to be heard.

It's time for change; Please join me in my own and UKIP's efforts to do just that.

Martin Lewis (Lib Dem)

I have lived in Staffordshire most of my life and went to school in Stafford. I live in Clayton in Newcastle under Lyme on the edge of Stone constituency. I was a civil servant for 37 years before retiring a few years ago. Two key policies that Lib Dems have implemented in coalition are raising the Income Tax threshold for 25 million people saving them £800 each and lifting three million out of tax altogether and the £2.5bn pupil premium policy which gives vital support for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Lib Dems want a stronger economy and a fairer society.

Wenslie Naylon (Green)

I want Stone voters to have the choice of a Green Party candidate. The old style parties and their leaders seem so distant from the lives of many of us, with no ethical vision for the long term. I'm a Green Party councillor in nearby Newcastle under Lyme, where I've fought against greenbelt development. I oppose privatisation of health services and I want to promote local renewable energy, both community projects and start-up firms. I also want a better offer from the county on repairing roads and footpaths, and more protection for Rights of Way.
