Somehow it's March already, and February has flown by despite it being slightly longer than normal.

Although a shorter month, February had its fair share of big news stories. Here we take a look at five of our biggest stories from last month.

1. Top Gear stars break down in Cannock

2. Carl Johnson's property empire in ruins as final home is repossessed

The property empire of notorious Wolverhampton crook Carl Johnson now lays in ruins after his final home was repossessed.

This was the latest blow to Johnson, coming just weeks after he was returned to jail following his failure to beat a deadline to repay money he had earned from crime.

3. Woman suffers serious sexual assault in grounds of Wolverhampton church

A police investigation was launched after a woman suffered a serious sexual assault in the grounds of St Peter's Church in Wolverhampton's city centre.

4. Rush hour chaos as fatal crash shuts M6 in West Midlands

A crash between a lorry and a car on the M6 proved fatal with the driver of the Saab being confirmed dead at the scene.

The crash led to traffic chaos after the motorway was closed for almost 24 hours due to damage to the carriageway.

A public inquiry is now being held into the responses of the emergency services to the incident.

5. Smethwick shopkeeper found dead in boot of his own car

A murder investigation was launched after the body of Tanveer Iqbal, a shop owner from Smethwick, was found in the boot of his car.

Three people have now been charged with the murder, while a teenage girl has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
