A performing arts college in the Black Country is on the lookout for new members following an expansion.

Stagecoach Stourbridge, based in Wordsley, wants youngsters hoping to embark on a career in singing, dancing or acting to apply for a place.

There are currently around 100 students aged between four and 18 who attend the college on Saturdays.

Principal Catherine Needle said applicants do not need to have any previous skill or experience, 'just enthusiasm'.

She said: "We are looking for anyone who wants to learn a new skill, gain confidence and have fun.

"We provide an in-depth performing arts education for children in acting, singing and dancing."

Stagecoach Stourbridge formed 12 years ago, but there have been big changes over the last year.

Mrs Needle's arrival as principal was followed by a move to the current site in Brierley Hill Road last April.

The move saw the college expand, with extra afternoon classes as sessions for older students now on offer.

New arrivals have also been told big opportunities could lie ahead.

Members of the college are preparing to head to London this summer to star in a West End production.

Performances will also be held at Dudley Theatre and the Stourbridge Carnival.

Mrs Needle said: "The performance in the summer will be based on the Hunger Games.

"We will be taking a performance troop, depending on the age of the children and how long they have been here.

"So there are plenty of opportunities there and everybody has a chance."
