LISTEN: Black Country band release first EP
They've performed in pubs and clubs across the region and now a Black Country band is hoping to attract a wider audience – as well as a record deal – as they celebrate the release of their first EP.
Four piece indie band Two Days Late spent up to six months putting the new tracks together. They are also hoping to win a contract as part of a national talent competition.
Their EP Sally has gone live on major music platforms iTunes, Spotify and SoundCloud. It features three tracks – Sally (I Like The Way You Move), Jealousy and High.
Recorded in The Twang's studios in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, band members Dan Penn, aged 23, from Cradley Heath, Josh Owen, 24, from Halesowen, Steve Parsons, 24, from Stourbridge, and Drew Saunders, 23, from Quinton, put together the EP in four to six months.
Bass player Steve, who works as a computer engineer, said: "It has been so surreal to see our music out there, the fact that our friends and family can search for the EP on things like Spotify and iTunes is incredible."

The name of the band relates to the poor time-keeping of two members, Dan and Drew.
Steve said: "Drew seems to be late to pretty much everything all the time, but he does work full time, so he has a good excuse.
But Dan seems to have stopped being late since he bought a car. It still makes a great joke though when one of them makes a late entrance." As well as releasing Sally and working towards their second EP, the band are involved in the second stage of nationwide contest – Brand New Artist – with 100 groups and solo artists competing for a professional recording contract with Negart Records.
Steve said: "Next year we really want to get out from just playing local gig's in Birmingham and Stourbridge and get playing more gigs around the country.
"Right now our following is quite small, so we really want to build on that and allow our fan-base to grow."
Sally can be bought on iTunes for £1.29 and heard on SoundCloud at www.soundcloud.com/twodayslate The band has a Facebook page, www.facebook.com/twodayslateuk
