This stunning new entertainment hub is coming to Birmingham's NEC complex and is poised to welcome thousands of visitors each year.

This latest image shows how Resorts World will look as visitors arrive at the neighbouring exhibition complex.

A four-star hotel, dozens of designer shops, restaurants and bars, a casino, an 11-screen cinema and a spa are among the attractions at the £150m development.

Bosses say works are on track for the site to be completed by next spring and hope the glass venue will prove a fitting addition to the well known destination.

Huge glass panels will envelop the front of the building as it comes into sight for visitors.

Officials say the resort will be the first of its kind in the UK and is set to be the largest leisure and entertainment complex in the whole of Western Europe.

The hope the design will complement the nearby LG Arena as it bids to bring in customers to the venue and neighbour exhibition site famed for hosting shows like The Clothes Show Live and Crufts.

The complex is being developed by Genting UK and it is hoped Resorts World will create 1,150 jobs.

Work on the main shell of the building is well advanced ready for completion next year.

Around 250 workers are on site at any one time carrying out works on different parts of the vast complex.

Complex operations director Barry Clemo previously said the works would create a major new attraction for the West Midlands.

"There is a real buzz about this development. We are a part of the NEC campus and our aim is to ensure everything works together," he said.

Resorts World in Birmingham will join other destinations in Sentosa, Singapore, Manila, New York and the Genting Highlands complex north of Kuala Lumpur.

The 538,000 sq ft complex is located between the LG Arena and the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
