What 'What House'? Something not quite white with Wolves fan's kit
When a Wolves fan bought his beloved team's new shirt, he got less than what he bargained for.
Delivery driver Paul Bona purchased the club's brand new away shirt - only to discover it was missing its sponsor.
Mr Bona, from Primrose Avenue, Bushbury, unwrapped the £42 top when he arrived home to find the 'What House' emblem was absent from its front.
The 50-year-old, who said he had been waiting for Wolves to release a white away kit for some years, said: "I put a picture straight up on Facebook and people were having a laughing at it. People were saying it looked like a Leeds United or Derby County shirt."
While fans pay big money to wear the shirt of their heroes the father-of-three said he almost had a change of heart.
"I didn't know whether to take it back because I suppose it would have been a collector's item," he said.
"I decided not to in the end and Wolves were happy to change it.
"I have no idea how it was missed. What happened to quality control?"
Online property search firm What House signed a £1 million deal with Wanderers last year to have their logo on the front of the club's kit.
Wolves spokesman Matt Grayson said: "We're sorry for any inconvenience and we've exchanged the shirt for a new one. Through our megastores, we distribute thousands of clothing items every year and, like any retail outlet, it's inevitable there will be isolated issues on occasions. When these matters arise we always move quickly to put things right."
It isn't the first time Wolves and their suppliers Puma have been caught in a wardrobe malfunction.
In March, Wanderers fan Richard Gough, originally from Cannock but now living in Cheshire, received a home shirt with the badge sewn upside down.
He took to social network site Twitter to vent his frustration but the club sent a response apologising for the mistake on a letter written upside down.
The reply from Wolves went viral with thousands of retweets and responses.
