The girl born on 07-07-07 reaches... Seven

And the sequence of sevens did not end there, as she obligingly weighed in at 7lb 7oz.

This week she reached another number-related milestone when she celebrated her seventh birthday.

The youngster marked the occasion with a party in the evening with friends while her mum brought a picnic to school at lunchtime which they enjoyed sitting in the sunshine at the Croft in Aldridge village centre.

It brought back happy memories for Ian and Dena(CORR) Smith of the birth to their firstborn at Walsall Manor Hospital all that time ago.

Mrs Smith said: "She was supposed to have arrived on the sixth but she decided to hang on and make her entrance the following day. We didn't notice the date to begin with - I think it was one of the staff who pointed it out.

"When she weighed in at 7lb 7oz, they had to weigh her twice to make sure they'd seen it right. It was such a coincidence."

The mother-of-two has since given birth to a son, Corey(CORR), now aged four, and the family as moved from Bridge Road, Shelfield, to Redhouse Lane in Aldridge.

She said Caitlin had turned into a 'bright, funny and caring' girl who dotes on her little brother and keeps the family entertained.

The youngster is a pupil at Cooper & Jordan C of E School, is a member of the Rainbows girlguiding group, enjoys swimming and gymnastics, and is the owner of beloved goldfish Holly.

Mrs Smith, aged 39, said: "She's full of life and has turned out to be every bit a special as her birth date."
