A total of 16 of the organisation's trained first aiders will be at the Thumbs Up for Stephen event at Burntwood Rugby Club.

Around 5,000 people are expected to attend to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the charity has offered its services for free.

Roy Jarratt, regional events manager, said: "St John Ambulance is delighted to be part of this event.

"Although we normally charge to attend events like this which pays for the equipment, vehicles and supplies, like all the other organisations involved we wanted to contribute something in memory of Stephen.

"With a large crowd expected, our first aid team will be available to deal with any emergency that might arise."

The event will be held on June 14 and there will be various music acts performing on the day, including U2UK, The Assist, Liam Parkinson and Nick Aslam.

Wristbands cost £8 per adult, £4 for under 18s and £20 foe a family of four. For details call 07813 324870.
