Countdown is on to this year's Wolverhampton Magazine wedding fair
The countdown is on to this year's Wolverhampton Magazine wedding fair – with brides and grooms-to-be being given the chance to win some great prizes at the spectacular, while raising money for charity.
A raffle will be held at Sunday's fair, with proceeds being donated to Compton Hospice.
Among prizes up for grabs is an overnight stay in an executive room at The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall Wood where the fair is being held from 11am until 4pm.
There are also tickets to see a show at The Grand Theatre, money to spend with a diamond specialist, a dazzling tiara offered by a Tettenhall bridal boutique, hair products from a city salon, a bottle of spirits from a supplier in Bradmore and home accessories courtesy of Cousins Furniture which is once again sponsoring the event. Wolverhampton Magazine supervisor and wedding fair co-ordinator Deana Jones said: "This year we thought it would be lovely if the wedding fair could support a local charity.
"We will be inviting visitors to purchase raffle tickets at £1 a strip and all proceeds will benefit Compton Hospice which is a lifeline for many people in the area."
Grace Ruston, PR & Marketing Officer for Compton Hospice said: "We are delighted that Wolverhampton Magazine has chosen to support Compton Hospice as part of its upcoming wedding fair this weekend. The funds raised from the raffle will go directly towards patient care at the hospice ensuring that families affected by terminal illnesses across the Black Country receive the very best level of care and support. We are incredibly grateful to Wolverhampton Magazine for their support and wish them every success for their event."
Wolverhampton Magazine's wedding fair is now in its third year and for 2014 The Mount is making available additional exhibitor space so even more specialists can be accommodated. Visitors are encouraged to chat informally to exhibitors who will be showcasing everything from dresses to cakes and flowers to photography.
The highlight of the day will be the two bridal fashion shows which are choreographed by The Fashion Show Company. The shows are at midday and 2pm and will be staged amid the splendour of the Great Hall.
