Ghost performance in Birmingham is cancelled
Hundreds of theatre-goers were left disappointed after a matinee performance of hit musical Ghost was cancelled at the last minute due to 'technical issues'.
Around 1,000 people had turned up to see the show at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham yesterday afternoon, when it was cancelled as it was about to start.
A statement on the theatre's Facebook page said: "Unfortunately due to technical issues with the communications system it would have been unsafe to go ahead with today's matinee performance of Ghost The Musical, therefore the decision was made to cancel the performance.
"We will be contacting all customers booked into this performance to offer an exchange to an alternative performance. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
"In the meantime, should customers wish to contact us please call 0844 871 3011."
Yesterday's second show, at 7.30pm, went ahead as planned.
