Lego brick trick shows Christmas crime perils
This montage in miniature depicts a Christmas crime which police officers hope will stop opportunistic burglars in their tracks.
The video, called 'A Christmas Toy Story', was posted online at 10am on Sunday morning and has already been seen by more than 17,000 people on the West Midlands Police YouTube channel. It gained 10,000 views within the first 12 hours. West Midlands Police press officer Peter Edney spent a total of 10 hours of his own time working on the video, painstakingly putting together a series of 500 stills to create the message.
The video, which forms part of the force's seasonal burglary campaign, shows a couple having a Christmas tree installed in their living room two weeks before the big day. A number of wrapped gifts and a football are then placed beneath the tree.
A CCTV-style shot then shows the Lego burglar stealing all the presents he can fit through the window.
