Tis the season to be a wally for Wolves squad

Wolves have served up a feast as they turned themselves into turkeys in a Christmas cracker of a comedy video to promote the club's merchandise.

The Molineux outfit have got into the festive spirit by releasing their own video and sending up almost everyone at the club – including chief executive Jez Moxey.

The CEO mocks himself as he chooses a pie and a pint over fresh fruit – as he sits by two models from Thomas the Tank Engine, a nod to the nickname the Fat Controller, which fans have labelled him.

Moxey was forced to eat humble pie and apologise after the club allocated 5,000 tickets to Albion fans for a fourth round FA Cup tie in 2007.

Wolves season ticket holders were turfed out of their seats in the Jack Harris Stand to accommodate their Baggies counterparts.

He offered to buy fans a pie and pint as an apology after Wolves fans voiced their disgust and called for him to resign during a preceding match against Cardiff.

Programme editor John Hendley – nicknamed Foz – walks through the club's Compton training centre to the tune of 'Hit or Miss' by Odetta – the soundtrack to Southern Comfort's popular advert campaign.

Here's the original:

Donning a fake moustache he puts on his slippers from the club's boot room – just after midfielder Davis Davis has collected his boots – and makes himself at home while the players mill around.

Hendley wins a card game involving some of the squad and also throws a bullseye on the dartboard without even breaking stride after stealing midfielder Kevin McDonald's limelight.

Kevin Foley and Richard Stearman are then left frustrated as Foz gazumps them during their card game and walks off victorious.

Players can be seen pulling crackers and top goalscorer Leigh Griffiths is reading Wolves' official 2014 annual in the changing room.

And he also pinches one of the groundstaff's vehicles to wish fans a Happy Christmas as he drives off.

Wayne Hennessy – who has just returned from a spell at Championship club Yeovil after recovering from a serious knee injury – is then beaten by Hendley's bullet header as he nods in from close range.

The media man is wearing a onesie as he beats the Wales international and walks past a Wolves gnome which is positioned at the side of the pitch.

At one point, goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is seen being given instructions of where not to hit the tactics board after his infamously broke his hand punching it at half time of their 2-1 win over Bristol City last season.

The keeper missed the end of the season – when Wolves were relegated from the Championship – following his error of judgement. But the side are able to mock the No.1 for the gaffe with the club looking good to bounce back as they sit second in League One ahead of Saturday's visit of MK Dons, only behind leaders Leyton Orient on goal difference.

The video proves there is a different feeling around Molineux after their successive relegations which saw them tumble from the Premier League to League One in just over a year.

Boss Dean Saunders was sacked after the demotion – which was capped by an emotional day at Brighton on the final day of last season. Kenny Jackett replaced him in the summer and has managed to re-establish the feel-good factor at the club and has gone to great lengths to ensure the club and its fans are reconnected.

The manager takes a central role as he signs one of the club's Christmas cards and Hendley acknowledges him with a respectful nod as he gate-crashes his office.

Skipper Sam Ricketts also takes the mickey out of his goal celebration when he jumps on the back of players who have scored – no matter who has netted.

George Elokobi gets in on the act, making sure he is the table tennis king by insisting on his paddle back.

What did you think of the Wolves clip? Brilliant or barmy?
