Yodel has taken on 120 additional lorry drivers and 200 sorters at its sorting centre on the border of Willenhall and Darlaston.
Bosses say they have contingency plans in place to ensure the service remains 'smooth' whatever the weather.
The firm has boosted its local workforce to 640 and national workforce to 16,000.
Yodel handled 14 million parcels last December and bosses are again preparing for the busiest time of the year.
The firm delivers on behalf of the UK's top retailers and has 1,500 clients including Sports Direct, Shop Direct, The Hut Group and Tesco.
