Burntwood nursery chain is sold in £220 million deal

The largest UK nursery chain, which is based in Burntwood, has been sold in a deal with around £220 million.

Busy Bees has been sold to a Canadian pension fund in a deal worth about £220m.

Ontario Teachers Pension Plan has bought the firm, which operates 213 nurseries in the country and employs more than 3,500.

The day care provider was founded in 1983. Its turnover in 2012 was £110.6m.
