Deals bring expansion to Jetstream HQ in Halesowen
A Halesowen-based company that manufactures and distributes high-pressure water jetting pump packages has secured a major new contract with a global offshore company.
Jetstream Europe will provide Bilfinger Salamis UK – a leading provider of industrial services– with eight units for use in hazardous areas.
This contract, along with a number of other recent business wins, has resulted in a rapid expansion for Jetstream Europe as it aims to meet growing customer demand for its products.
Danny Monaghan, technical & UK operations manager at Jetstream Europe, said: "We are very pleased to be working with a prestigious company such as Bilfinger Salamis to provide units that have been developed and manufactured by our highly experienced team.
"This contract, along with other new business, has allowed us to invest in our workshop and double the size of our manufacturing space."
The company has taken on new sales and engineering staff, boosting its workforce to 16, while its manufacturing space on the Halesowen Industrial Park, on Chancel Way, in now extends to 8,000 sq ft.
The deal centres on Jetstream's Zone 2 units, used on production platforms and drill rigs for a wide variety of maintenance tasks including surface preparation, coating removal, and cleaning pipes and tanks.
The equipment, which was developed and manufactured by Jetstream Europe's headquarters in Halesowen, boasts a Jetstream 3,000 Series pump, which delivers a flow rate of up to 89 litres a minute at 550 bar and 19 litres a minute at 2,750 bar.
It is powered by a 125hp, air start, four-cylinder diesel engine, which has a speed of 2,200 rpm and runs independently once started.
Other features include a hydraulic shut-off system and a gear reducer drive, meaning belts aren't required. Electric versions are also available.
The Bilfinger Salamis UK contract is one of many new contracts that Jetstream Europe has secured for its own products, which has meant the company has had to expand its workshop to accommodate the demand.
Garry Cruickshank, of Bilfinger Salamis UK, said: "Investing in these jetting units has been part of our strategic development and demonstrates the clear focus we have on investing in innovation."
Bilfinger Salamis is a leading industrial services firm with more than 200 onshore staff at its headquarters in Aberdeen and 2,000 offshore staff.
