Brintons reveals £5m investment in firm's future
Historic Kidderminster carpet firm Brintons has announced a £5 million investment to boost its manufacturing in the UK and overseas.
The firm today said the money would be used to expand its high definition weave technology at its site in the town and another in Portugal.
It follows an initial £3m investment announced in March.
Bosses said 10 looms would now be upgraded as part of the work – four in Kidderminster and six in Portugal.
This is in addition to the upgrading of four looms in Kidderminster announced earlier this year.
Managing director Don Coates said: "This investment demonstrates the board's confidence in the future of Brintons and its commitment to the area.
"It will enable Brintons to expand new business growth initiatives, such as rugs, whilst at the same time reducing waste and improving efficiency."
