Car interiors firm Cab Automotive creating 66 new jobs
Sixty-six new jobs will be created at a booming car interiors company thanks to a Government cash injection.
Cab Automotive has already been boosted by announcements of Jaguar Land Rover's expansion earlier this year.
And last week the Sedgley Road East factory was one of 17 successful bidders for money from the third round of the Government's £1 billion Regional Growth Fund. Now it has emerged the grant will not only safeguard the Tipton firm's 245-strong staff but also bankroll projects, creating new environmentally-friendly products, which will bring new jobs.
The jobs will range from shop floor operators to engineers and process leaders. "The money will be used over the coming months to assist in three projects which will secure the future of the current workforce as well as creating in the region of 66 new jobs," said managing director John Faulkner.
Cab Automotive makes interior components for JLR, Rover, Aston Martin, McLaren, Honda, Toyota and Bentley.
The firm was announced as a winning bidder for RGF cash alongside the Express & Star, which won £1.4 million for a Green Shoots Fund. It is launching the fund with the University of Wolverhampton to boost local firms.
