Kidderminster carpets group Victoria has moved into the luxury vinyl flooring market with the £400,000 takeover of a Devon company.

C&H Distribution, based in Willand near Exeter, supplies vinyl tiles to the contract market in the UK. If it hits sales targets Victoria will pay an additional £50,000 for the business.

Victoria says it expects the takeover to boost its earnings next year. Group managing director Alan Bullock said: "C&H is an important step towards achieving our stated objective of becoming the leading high-quality flooring supplier in both Australasia and the UK."

He said the company would create a new luxury flooring division and expand C&H's product range.
