Goodrich is looking to recruit 30 engineers as well as 10 fitter testers and five apprentices.
The company already employs more than 900 people at its headquarters in Stafford Road, Fordhouses.
Goodrich UK human resources director John Mahon said today: "We have won quite a lot of work over the last 12 months and we are having to recruit in engineering in particular.
"There are 30 posts available at the moment, all based in Wolverhampton, and they would be in systems, design, development, stress and safety and reliability engineering."
He added that 10 tester fitters' posts are also available, which will involve shop floor assembly work.
The company has also started recruiting apprentices to help plan for an expected increase in demand in three to four years' time.
Mr Mahon said ideal candidates would be aged 16-20 and would require good maths skills.
The news comes after it was revealed last week that jobless figures for the city had fallen. But the toll is likely to rise following the Government's spending review in October that is expected to slash public sector budgets by a quarter.
