Around 250 jobs will be created at a Black Country depot, it emerged today.

Bosses say most of the posts at clothing and homeware giant TK Maxx's processing centre in Walsall go up for grabs tomorrow.

They will be temporary positions to handle the Christmas rush.

Roles on offer at the base in Green Lane will include those for order-checkers, labellers, quality controllers and general warehouse workers.

They are the second batch of new jobs the company has unveiled this month, after 50 were created at the new branch currently under construction at Gallagher Retail Park, in Wednesbury.

And it comes after fresh figures showed unemployment had fallen in Walsall and closely follows the announcements of new jobs at other borough firms.

Chris Buckley, spokesman at Blue Arrow Managed Services, which is running the two recruitment days, said: "They will primarily be temporary roles to begin with, but some of the best workers will be offered full-time posts."

Two recruitment days will be held at the processing centre, between 9.30am and 4pm, tomorrow and on Friday.

Building work started at the new TK Maxx store, close to Junction 9 of the M6, earlier this month.
