RMD Kwikform UK of Walsall has been involved in preparations for the 2012 games in London over the last 18 months, including providing the supporting beams which enabled the main roof to be put in place and also helping with work on footpath bridges.
In recognition of their efforts the Princess Royal will visit the firm at its 75-year-old base in Brickyard Road, Aldridge, tomorrow.
The princess will als tour the new Jabez Cliff saddlemakers factory, Aldridge; Dudley Citizens Advice Bureau and the Beacon Centre for the Blind, Sedgley.
Up to 20 members of RMD Kwikform UK staff have so far been involved in the Olympics project – mainly working along construction firms. The firm, which specialises in formwork and falsework has helped design and deliverf equipment for work on and around thegames main site.
Princess Anne will visiting the Aldridge firms in her role as member of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games at 2.30pm to congratulate staff for involvement in helping deliver important construction projects.
Managing director Mike Follett said: "It is a real honour to welcome The Princess Royal to our UK Headquarters in Aldridge as part of a royal tour to recognise the importance of the role played by a number of businesses in the West Midlands to the delivery of the Olympic Games."
The Princess Royal will also visit Cliff and Company Ltd, which supplies the Royal family, tomorrow. The 200-year-old-plus firm moved from Walsall town centre to Aldridge Road, Aldridge, last year. Princess Anne will officially mark the relocation to a converted barn and stables.
She has been to the firm's old Lower Forster Street base but this will be her first visit to the Badger's Yard factory. Seventy years after first opening to the public, Dudley Citizens Advice Bureau will welcome the CAB patron tomorrow.
She will chat to staff and volunteers about the impact of the recession and the increasing demand for the service, as well as look at the CAB's specialist work such as palliative care advice and children's centres.
The Princess will meet members of the Dudley District CAB Trustee Board Mark Parsons, Karen Beaton and Steve Handscomb, Dudley Council chief executive John Polychranakis and leader Councillor Anne Millward, chief executive of Dudley Primary Care Trust Sarah Dugan and CAB chief executive Caroline Dimbylow.
She said: "We are thrilled to receive a visit from the Princess Royal in recognition of our 70th anniversary, and of the commitment and hard work carried out by our volunteers and staff on behalf of the people of Dudley."
The Princess will also be visiting the Beacon Centre for the Blind, Sedgley, to mark the official opening of the new £18 million building. Princess Anne will be given a tour of the new facilities which include a 25,000 sq ft headquarters.
