Queen's Award for Staffordshire consultancy
Conversion Rate Experts, a Staffordshire-based consultancy that scientifically improves the profitability of online businesses, has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.
Conversion Rate Experts won the accolade in recognition of its success in codifying a scientific methodology that industry leaders like Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple now use to improve websites.
As the world's largest consultancy that focuses solely on conversion rate optimisation (a term it coined in 2007), the company says it has measurably grown hundreds of businesses in over 80 different sectors.
The company serves clients in 22 different countries from its office in Hawkesyard Hall, Rugeley and consists of a multinational team working remotely across seven countries.
Karl Blanks, chairman and founder of Conversion Rate Experts, said: "To be awarded the Queen's Prize for Enterprise is incredible testimony to the hard work of our talented staff who have helped us to build an international success story from our home in Staffordshire."
"Our roots in the local community are very important to us. We wanted to create a global company with the best and brightest global talent, without having to uproot and move to London. We are a remote-first company, using remote collaboration technology so that we can hire people and serve clients anywhere in the world from our office in Rugeley."
"I grew up in Stafford while my business partner Ben Jesson comes from Cheslyn Hay. Both of us love living and working here and thanks to the way we work, this doesn't place any barriers on our ambitions."
"We also recruit locally, with an internship programme open to anyone with outstanding A Level results. Staffordshire is home to exceptionally bright young talent for whom we are always on the lookout."
"Innovation is our business. It helps us to stand out as one of the few marketing companies that focuses on measurable results.
"We stick our necks on the line by insisting we carry out scientific A/B tests to verify that we've significantly grown each client's business. We were the first consultancy to do this and we are proud to have led this change in the industry."
The Queen's Award for Enterprise is granted to British businesses for outstanding achievement in one of four categories: international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity (through social mobility). Her Majesty The Queen grants the awards on the advice of the Prime Minister; they are announced annually on April 21, The Queen's birthday.
The Queen will present the awards in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace later in the year. Conversion Rate Experts will be presented with their award at their offices by the Lord-Lieutenant of the county of Staffordshire later this year.
CRE says it increases the profits of businesses scientifically, by carrying out experiments—A/B-tests—on their websites. It has worked in over 80 different verticals, in 9 languages, and in 22 countries. The tests have been carried out on billions of users, generating billions in revenue for its clients.
