Blackthorns has moved to an office by Lye train station that is twice the size of its previous site in Kidderminster and will give them additional meeting rooms, dedicated car parking and excellent transport links to the Black Country, Birmingham and the Midlands in general.

The practice, which is run by Karen Turner and Vicky Brassington, marked the move by announcing a new corporate identity to reflect its strong local roots.

"We have grown about 25 per cent each year since 2015, a direct result of our approach to working closely with SMEs that are looking for expert support on accountancy, business planning and corporate transactions," explained Karen.

"This expansion had seen us outgrow our office in Kidderminster, so this gave us the perfect opportunity to look at finding new premises that are located in the heart of the West Midlands, offer great transport access and provide us with the additional space to increase our team."

She went on to add: "What Lye gives us is an ideal base to grow our Black Country work and it's great that we have brought an empty building back to life after over 2 years of being out of use.

"Embracing a new corporate identity across all marketing material and social media will enable us to strengthen our links with local businesses."

Blackthorns is a leading firm of chartered accountants and registered auditors, working with starts-ups and SMEs from a broad range of industry sectors on financial and business planning issues, providing a complete solution to accounting, taxation and advisory needs.

As part of the expansion, it has also promoted two members of staff, James Basterfield and Graham Hill, to the board of Directors

Vicky went on to add: "These latest appointments give us a really strong management team and one that we will need if we are to achieve our ambitious growth plans.

"James is a fantastic commercial operator and Graham has extensive operational experience of running a thriving office. Importantly they both understand the way we like to do business."
