Target is to double Chrysalis turnover
Chrysalis Solmotive, an Oldbury based supplier of customer retention software to automotive retailers across the globe, has hired a new managing director.
Nigel Potter is set on doubling the firm's turnover in the next 12 months and his appointment follows a £700,000 investment in the business from venture capital provider Finance Birmingham earlier this year.
Rapidly-growing Chrysalis, of Swallowfield Courtyard, off Wolverhampton Road, supplies major car manufacturers, finance companies and dealerships.
Mr Potter, former managing director of information technology consultancy firm i4 Associates, also aims to enhance its product development and support global expansion.
He has more than 30 years' combined experience across the automotive and IT sectors and a track record for delivering business growth solutions.
In previous roles he has been the driving force behind dramatic increases in turnover, taking one software business from £3 million turnover to £12m in just three years, and building businesses up to multi-million pound values.
Nigel plans to rapidly grow Chrysalis and and says his aim is to double its existing turnover in a year.
The hire follows a successful start to the year for Chrysalis, which plans to create more than 30 jobs in 2016. Currently employing 20 staff, the business has more than a decade's experience in developing leading customer retention software for its clients and serves more than two-thirds of the top 200 car retailers in the UK.
"Chrysalis is a hugely successful business with a reputation for delivering customer retention results for some of the biggest automotive names across the globe. At a time when customer service and ROI are both so vital in our industry, we have a real opportunity to unlock further potential in its product and offering to help its clients' bottom line, in turn raising its profile and value," said Mr Potter.
Jolyon Barker, chief executive of parent group Chrysalis Retail Science, Global, said: "Nigel's wealth of experience in the both the automotive and IT sectors is the perfect fit for Chrysalis and will help him to provide real added value for clients and our business. He will be a real asset in ensuring that we continue to develop our product offering and maximise our potential not only here in the UK, but in our expanding markets across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
"We are a team that firmly believes in investing in the best talent to grow our business, and Nigel's impressive career history paired with his vision will no doubt see Chrysalis continue on the upward trajectory that we are aiming for."
