Pro Freight grows Cannock base

New jobs are being created after a Staffordshire transport company snapped up the biggest building on the Watling Street Business Park, near Cannock.

Site owner St Modwen says the deal comes against a background of rising demand for top-quality 'industrial sheds' in the Midlands, as Pro Freight Solutions has signed a deal to lease the 48,632 sq ft unit.

Pro Freight Solutions is expanding its premises in order to cater for its growing business and says around 10 jobs will be created as a result. Mitch Chance, managing director at Pro Freight Solutions, said: "Pro Freight Solutions is enjoying a period of rapid expansion. Watling Street provides the ideal location, allowing us to grow our operations, whilst benefitting from the local employment pool."

Pro Freight occupies 123,000 sq ft across two units in Burntwood, 30,000 sq ft in Shenstone and 10,000 sq ft in Brownhills.

The letting at Watling Street is an expansion of the business into a new site while retaining its existing operations. Unit 16 at Watling Street provides a substantial yard and multiple loading doors, including two new dock level loading doors, and has recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment programme.

The business park has proven to be consistently popular with industrial, storage and distribution tenants, owing to its prime location and its on-site management and security policy. Just two further units remain to let, at 8,465 sq ft and 4,234 sq ft.

Jonathan Green, senior development surveyor for the site owners, said: "There is increasing interest in St Modwen's commercial and industrial parks across the Midlands, which can bring forward much needed employment opportunities to the region. Watling Street is a prime example, enjoying an ideal location with great connectivity to the rest of the UK."

Watling Street has more than 150,000 sq ft of industrial, warehousing and open storage space., and is situated in a prime location directly off the A5, mid-way between Brownhills and Cannock.
