Investment pays off with record turnover
A Cannock company has invested almost £100,000 in new equipment and processes in the last 12 months to increase its working capacity, and has achieved its best year of sales ever as a result.
Exhibition design and construction company Icon Exhibitions and Display of Watling Street Business Park, Norton Canes, has invested in various new equipment and processes for its 10,000 sq ft premises to improve working efficiency, including new warehouse racking and extra tooling.
The company has also embraced some of the principles of lean management, and has invested in shadowboards and other such tools to help increase shopfloor workflow and improve processes.
As a result, this year the company has achieved turnover of more than £1 million – the highest figure it has ever reached in its 20-year history of designing, manufacturing and installing exhibition stands throughout the UK and overseas.
Two new jobs have been created as a result, taking the workforce to 13. Managing director of Icon Exhibitions, Wayne Ball, said: "The investments are definitely benefitting the business."
"It's allowed our employees to work even smarter and our prices to be even more competitive as we can produce more in-house, enabling us to continue to grow our reputation for designing, manufacturing and installing high quality exhibition and display solutions throughout the UK and overseas."
