Land buy will carry company expansion
A West Midlands carrier company has bought new land to aid its expansion plans.
With financial support from Barclays, Cargo Carriers (Midlands) has purchased the 2.5-acre site at Bagnall Street, Tipton from Sandwell Council, providing extra space to house new vehicles.
Cargo Carriers was formed in 1992 and has over 23 years' experience offering tailored solutions for deliveries and collections within the haulage sector.
The business also supports other large and small hauliers with whom they work in partnership.
Located centrally near to junction one of the M5 motorway at Great Bridge, the business operates a comprehensive fleet of company owned vehicles ranging from 18 tonne box vans to full 44 tonne articulated lorries with over 70 drivers.
The business operates as a family firm with five brothers involved in its management.
The family approach to business has ensured that client service is paramount – fulfilling growing and changing orders for clients as they expand.
It has also been investing in technology, with its own tracking and monitoring system at the core of the company's communication control service, providing access to any shipment information in real time. The system identifies the location of the load and its expected delivery time.
Cargo Carriers has recently installed active European tracking, making it possible to pinpoint the exact location of vehicles anywhere on the Continent.
The additional land was unoccupied by Sandwell Council and will safeguard the employment of workers as the business consolidates its operations and offers extra space to its haulage partners.
Mr Shabeg Chahal, director of Cargo Carriers (Midlands), said: "In order to meet the growing demand of our customers, it became necessary for us to find additional land to accommodate our client's vehicles.
"This site met our requirements and with Barclays help, we were able to act swiftly to complete the purchase."
Simon Freeman, relationship director at Barclays said: "We have been working with the business for a number of years and are pleased to support them with this latest purchase."
