Major water treatment deal for NCH Europe

NCH Europe, which has its headquarters in Wolverhampton, has won a new five-year multi-million pound contract.

The company specialises in cleaning and conserving water, saving energy and providing maintenance services to hospitality, industrial and infrastructure businesses,. It has now been appointed by facilities giant ISS as primary provider of water treatment in the UK.

It will be delivered by the Chem-Aqua specialist water treatment division of NCH. which operates in 25 countries across Europe and employs more than 2,000. Its head office is in Springvale Park, Bilston.

The deal involves minimising water, energy and maintenance costs and ensuring safe, reliable operation of critical systems for ISS customers in the UK

Chem-Aqua,will monitor and treat industrial water used in cooling systems by ISS customers to ensure the most efficient use of resources, minimise the damage caused to pipework by scaling and corrosion, and minimise the public safety risk associated with Legionella bacteria escaping into the environment.

Doug Blake, managing director for key accounts at ISS, said: "There is potential for untreated bacteria in large commercial cooling systems to damage pipework, block heat exchanges and create a significant public health risk. NCH's proven water treatment expertise, the scale of its operations and ability to provide customers with a rapid return on investment by reducing water use and energy consumption made appointing it as our primary provider an obvious choice."

NCH's custom water treatment programmes are already used by almost 1,000 hospitality, industrial and infrastructure businesses across Europe to minimise water, energy and maintenance costs, and ensure safe and reliable operation of critical cooling systems.
