Work completed on LoneStar's new headquarters

LoneStar Fasteners Europe has taken possession of its new site in Wednesbury, hear Junction 9 of the M6, and has started equipping the plant to take over from its three previous factories.

The building of the new headquarters for LoneStar Group and creation of a manufacturing and distribution centre, costing £7.5million, has safeguarded more than 300 jobs.

Employees from the company's existing sites in the Black Country – two at Willenhall and another at Bilston – will be transfering to the new site along with staff from the current head office in Kennicott House in Wednesfield.

The site at Universal Point, Steelmans Road, was previously occupied by bathroom equipment firm Aqualux Products

PRD Fasteners at Monmer Close, Willenhall, Eurofast Petrochemical Suppliesat Planetary Industrial Estate, Willenhall, and Triplefast International at Oxford Street Industrial Estate, Bilston are coming together to form LoneStar Fasteners Europe making special and non-standard fasteners and gaskets.

Extensive refurbishment of the existing building began earlier this year and is now complete in line with the scheduled programme.

The relocation work began on Friday with the movement of the first machines and continues throughout August.

The sales and commercial offices will move across the weekends of August 16-17 and 23-24.

Brand new signage on the front, side and rear of the building has been installed.

The 95,000 sq ft warehouse and production space has finished refurbishment with new lighting installed and floors, walls and pathways painted. Delivery of machinery will take place throughout August and September.

State-of-the-art laboratory equipment will move across in September from the current lab which is located at PRD.

Aqualux, part of the Fetim Group, has relocated to a refurbished 57,058 sq ft warehouse at Solihull's Solar Park.

It has been in Wednesbury since 2005 but the the company had decided that the premises in Wednesbury were no longer suitable for its on-going property requirements
