The KGJ Insurance Services (Midlands) office in Bilston Street has closed and the business has moved to the KGJ Insurance Services Group which is based on the Wolverhampton Business Park neat Junction 2 of the M54.

Chris Hollinshead who owned the Sedgley business and has worked in the industry for 39 years is remaining with the combined business as a part-time client consultant.

The original KGJ insurance brokers was set up more than 60 years ago in Bilston by Mr Hollinshead's father Geoff and his brother Ken and his wife Jean.

It has grown to become one of the biggest insurance broking groups in the West Midlands, taking in many other firms over the years, and now employs a team of 75 professionals covering all areas of insurance and risk management.

Darren Hollinshead, the son of Ken, is one of three directors along with Lyndon Hollinshead and Richard Cox.

"We are delighted to be welcoming Chris home," he said.

"My concern was that our commitment to provide the best possible levels of service was continued and with this in mind, i have had discussions with several interested parties. Havid studied the various avenues open to me, I am pleased to be able to confirm that we have now joined forces with a local company that maintains the same exacting standard and approach to client care the we have nurtured over the past 38 years," said Chris Hollinshead.

His team from Sedgley has also moved to the group offices at Charter Court, Broadlands,

The family-owned group moved from Bilston to Charter Court in 2005. It separates its business into three categories - personal insurance, commercial insurance and claims.

It has won a number of industry awards over the years for its high level of client service.

Chris Hollinshead, who has been working with the group's client servicing teams to ensure the transfer is as seamless as possible, said that the customers of the Sedgley business would have access to enhanced services and products.

"It has access to a much wider panel of insurers and products. Importantly, the significant buying power of a group controlling premiums in excess of £30 million will enable us to negotiate even harder with insurers.

The group's website is www.kgjgroup.co.uk and it can be contacted on 01902 796796.
