Established in 1986, the Bilston-based business has grown to be a highly successful manufacturer of bespoke corrugated boxes for a wide range of clients.

Over the last two years the company has invested £400,000 in new machinery at its 55,000 sq ft factory and warehouse on the Phoenix Industrial Estate, where it has also created its own purpose-built dry loading and unloading facility.

And the increasing strength of the company has been matched by good news on the jobs front, with staff levels rising to 60 people over the last couple of years.

Most recently Sandland has bought the assets of a rival company in the area, which has led to significant reorganisation of its manufacturing areas.

Director Martin Hickman explained: "Along with the acquisition came all the machinery, which included a two-colour three metre Dong Fang case maker with rotary die section and pallet line - with capabilities of producing 15,000 boxes per hour – a three-metre Rotacut die cutter and a three metre stitcher.

"All will help us produce a wide range of products in half the time."

Mr Hickman added: "Investment of £400,000 in new machinery over the last two years has given us capacity to expand in every area with scope of growing from £5 million turnover to £7 million over the coming years.

"As well as manufacturing standard and bespoke products Sandland Packaging also offers a stock and serve facility with next day and same day delivery options available. Running our own fleet of seven vehicles helps us to quickly react to customers urgent requirements.

"The company prides itself on quick turnaround from receipt of order to manufacturing, and our team of estimators react immediately to any enquiries with all quotes returned within an hour of receipt.

"Our experienced sales team are always on hand to help with any special requirements."

The company has also benefited from its geographical position at the centre of the UK's transport system, said Mr Hickman. "Being based in Wolverhampton, close to Junction 10 of the M6 motorway, allows us easy access to all motorway networks for on time deliveries. Staff levels have increased over the last couple of years and we now employ 60 staff on a one shift basis.

"The focus for Sandland Packaging now is for continual growth and expansion."
