Resolute wins contracts after move

Resolute Property Solutions hopes to achieve target turnover of £1.5 million this year.

The ambitious company's health and safety and contracts director Robert Goulding said:

"We achieved a turnover of £62,000 in our first year and grew that to £270,000 for our second year to the end of February.

Resolute was started in February 2012 by Mr Goulding and fellow directors Stuart Farnell - the managing director - and Alan Shiner, who is also the company's electrical foreman.

"We all have had experience in the trade in contact management or on site electrical engineering and decided to combine our skills," explained Mr Goulding.

Apart from the directors the company currently has two full time staff but expects to take on more as it grows.

Mr Shiner said the business had only recently moved from being based from its former home base in Stanmore Grove, Halesowen, to a unit on the Long Lane Industrial Estate in Blackheath. It has been converted to provide the growing business with an office and workshop. The new base opened in November.

"We are committed to employing local labour with all the associated training courses and health and safety that is required," he added.

Resolute has just won an initial £15,000 contract to do work for Stoke-on-Trent City Council which could lead to further projects on a school demolitions programme.

"We also hope to win a large installation contract in London and we are doing a lot of work for training provider Learn Direct. So far this year wqe have done more than 20 office fit outs for them.

"Our ambition is to grow to the stage where we can take on more work for councils, Government-funded organisation and leading blue chip companies.

"To achieve that we have to do everything properly and make sure we have all the accreditations and standards that are needed as well as the history and credit rating that they require," he explained.

"We already employ a lot of people that we know and trust as sub-contractors and we are proud to be helping the wider local economy by doing that," he added.

Resolute Property Solutions, which also installs fire alarm and security systems, undertakes all aspects of building, mechanical and electrical contract works.

It currently works for a diverse range of clients including large private corporate organisations, property developers, letting agents, established primary contractors and domestic clients and landlords.

Current clients of Resolute include Wolfs Letting Agents, Lovell, JDS Electrical, Blue Horizons, Vanguard Contractors, Learndirect, GBR Phoenix Beard, Grosvenor Interiors and MHS Alarm Services.

Resolute, which is a member of the Electrical Contractors' Association, is also currently developing a new website as part of its growth strategy. It is expected to go live in the next month.
