Co-founder and technical and production director Alastair Henman said the company in Steel Drive was winning more demanding jobs across the country and picking up export orders.

Three years ago Zaun, which now employs 58, was able to double the size of its factory after winning major deals to supply security fencing for the London Olympics. Mr Henman said: "The Olympics work saw us through a lot of the recession, but there was a year's lull after that.

"Trading conditions have been tough over the last few years.

We have had to innovate and add more value to keep ahead and busy. Those efforts are really starting to pay off as the level of activity starts to increase. "014 is looking very exciting indeed."

The company took on three new staff in 2013 including new technical staff.

The company has also invested in the last two years in installing the world's largest mesh weaving machine to help with orders for the security market.

Zaun is focusing on the Middle East for winning exports and last month took part in the international Intersec show in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
