The 59-year-old - who turns 60 this year - also took time out to support the Dudley Park Run participants on Saturday morning when he dressed up as he traditionally does, as Prince complete with guitar.

Mark had done 41 runs in 2024 including 32 Dudley Park Runs before November when he suffered a heart attack and was treated in the Coronary Care Unit at Russells Hall Hospital.

He  carries the mock up guitar and carrying case which lists all the runs he has completed, raising money and awareness for both Prostate Cancer UK and Active Heart.

Now almost fully recovered, later this month he will compete in the 10k Winter Run in London as part of the 'Prince Purple Run Tour,' which has raised £1,600 for the charities.

He turned out at what has been his regular haunt - The Dell Stadium - on Saturday morning to support the weekly park run and was running himself on Sunday in a solo effort.

He said: "I have done 142 park runs in total in my running career, including 32 last year so I know all the guys and thought I would lend them my support - it was a bit to cold for me to run as I have to be careful after the heart attack but it was great to see everyone and I got back on track as it were on Sunday."

Mark said he is on course for the London run - on Sunday February 23 - where he will again don his Prince costume and raise more money and awareness for the two causes.

The Dudley Park Run takes place every Saturday morning at 9am at The Dell Stadium, Bryce Road, Pensnett
