The final words spoken by a young woman before she fell to her death from a moving van have been heard by a Black Country jury.

A tape recording of the frantic 999 call made by doomed Lisa Collins from her mobile phone moments before tragedy struck was played to Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday.

The 25-year-old from Walsall informed police: "I am with a client who won't let me out of the car." There was a pause in the conversation before she continued: "Hang on he is just stopping...will you stop the car please? Will you stop the god damn car?"

Then there was the sound of rustling before the line went dead. That was the moment Miss Collins fell to her death, prosecutor Richard Atkins explained.

She suffered fatal head injuries and was killed immediately. He phone was found in the road.

Eyewitnesses initially thought it was a rag doll that fell out of the van near the M5 at Oldbury.

The driver, Mohammed Asghar, did not stop, the court heard.

The 24-year-old denies causing death by dangerous driving but admits leaving the scene of the accident without reporting it at around 2.30 am on April 18 last year.

Miss Collins was a prostitute in Caldmore, Walsall where she had been picked up earlier said Mr Atkins. He paid £20 for a sex act that was performed as he drove.

The trial continues.
