Bill, nicknamed The Baron by his team mates, was vice-captain to Billy Wright during Wolves' glory days of the 40s and 50s.
The much-loved player, who suffered from dementia, died on Saturday night at Orchard House nursing home in Penn Fields, where he was receiving care.
Born and bred in Bilston, Bill stayed faithful to the city, living in Penn before settling in Henwood Road, Compton, in recent years.
