Kenny Jackett: There's no title hangover at Wolves

Kenny Jackett today welcomed his Wolves champions back and insisted there's no title hangover as he targeted more records.

The Molineux head coach had his squad back in for training today after giving them Tuesday and Wednesday off.

They won the League One crown on Monday, following the 3-1 win at Leyton Orient and Brentford's 2-2 draw against MK Dons.

But with Plymouth's record 102 points tally for the third tier from 2001-02 in his sights, Jackett is urging his players to create more history on top of their five club records.

"I don't get too involved with the players' social life but they've been very good in training today and I don't detect any slackening in standards," said Jackett.

"You don't get many opportunities like this when you're chasing a points record for the division, so you should go for it.

"They're playing with confidence and enjoying their football.

Jackett will select from the same squad that featured at Leyton Orient on Easter Monday.

"It will be the same 18, and selecting from the 18 keeps the continuity," he said.

"There's been a very good mood at the training ground today with a number of schoolchildren around. It's been a buoyant and positive place."

Saturday's opponents Coventry have gone five games without a win and have lost the momentum they had when they were more than good value for their 1-1 draw at Molineux in October.

"Playing Wolves is a big game for them and they will be working hard because they're playing for their status after the turmoil they've had. I think they'll be safe," said Jackett.

"For long spells, they were the form team of the division but it's very difficult to keep up that pace and we've learned and improved since we played them here.

"Without the 10-point deduction, they'd have had 60 points - enough to have them challenging for the play-offs in a very competitive division.

"We'll pay them every respect and this game won't be an easy one.

"If you drop off by even four or five per cent, it can be the difference between a win and a loss.

"We have to keep going if we want this points record.

"Momentum is a big thing. There's a lot of positivity and a good link between the players and supporters and I want to give it a good go in the Championship next season.

"Any edge or small advantage in our favour, I want to use them."

Right-back Kevin Foley, who is back from a loan spell at Blackpool, has a shoulder operation on Monday but will be fully fit well in time for the start of next season.

Winger Zeli Ismail has recovered from hamstring trouble and has rejoined Burton Albion on loan.

Jackett still believes Ismail can make an impact at Wolves, adding: "They often go out as boys and come back as men."
