Wolves have now placed an order to replace the concrete panels surrounding the plinth of the 9ft bronze statue outside Molineux, after a motorist ploughed into it in January.
A Wolves spokesman said: "The order has been placed for the materials needed to restore the Billy Wright Statue to its previous state.
"We expect the process to take about eight weeks and the statue will then be back to his former glory."
Three concrete slabs were torn off the structure, while the board which carries Wright's name was smashed in two.
