No apology for Wolves' Michal Zyro

Wolves' Polish forward Michal Zyro has revealed he's still yet to receive an apology for the horror tackle that has ruled him out of action for a year.

Zyro is currently undergoing rehabilitation after suffering serious knee damage during the 2-1 win at MK Dons in April.

Defender Antony Kay received a booking for the tackle, but Zyro was unhappy with the lack of apology after the game.

Kay has since signed for League One side Bury after being released by the Dons.

And Zyro said no apology has ever been forthcoming.

Polish international Zyro, expected to be out until April, is quoted on Polish website Przeglad Sportowy as saying: "There was nothing. No response from the club or from him.

"At first I did not hurt (on the pitch). I stood up and the doctor told me to try to set my foot on the ground.

"I was not in pain because it had torn all the nerves in my knee.

"My team mates thought I would get up and play on."

Zyro compared the incident to when he was on the other side on a serious collision in his junior days back in Poland.

"We fought shoulder to shoulder, he fell so awkwardly that it was necessary to plaster (a broken leg).

"I went with the coach and gave the boy a box of chocolates. I apologised. A guy from MK Dons, nothing. He got a yellow card (and that was) the end."

The 23-year-old is now in the midst of a painstaking recovery, having become the third Wolves player to suffer an ACL injury in one season, after Nouha Dicko and Jordan Graham.

Zyro is determined to return stronger than ever - and play in the Premier League with Wolves within two years.

"Injuries are just part of player life," he added.

"At first I was furious. (My) anger grew as I watched the European Championships.

"The physiotherapist said it looks my knee is five months passed surgery, not three.

"I know that after returning playing I will be stronger physically.

"Silently we (Wolves) aim for the play-offs. Maybe after my return we fight for promotion to the Premier League? This is a league meant for me!"
