Nigerian right-back Godswill Ekpolo has been training with Wolves' under-21 squad.

The 21-year-old was released by the La Liga giants last month.

Ekpolo played 90 minutes for Wolves' under-21s in their 2-1 friendly victory over Hednesford Town at the weekend, in which Christian Herc scored both of Wolves' goals.

He had been tipped to make the Barcelona first team but left having never featured in the Catalan club's first team.

Ekpolo joined Barcelona when he was nine years old and captained their under-18 side.

A serious injury suffered in the 2014/15 season stunted his progress, although he did train with the first team on a number of occasions.

Ekpolo has a chance of featuring in the Nigeria under-23 side that will feature in the Rio Olympics.

No decision has been made either way on his immediate future
