Wolves face a fight to hang on to the highly-rated England Under-21 international defender.

Both he and fellow young England star Kortney Hause are set to be the subject of several bids from Premier League sides this summer, with a host having scouted the pair.

And reports in Nigeria – a country for whom Iorfa is still eligible to represent at full international level – suggest he would favour a move to the hammers.

A 'family source' is quoted as saying: "It's true that Iorfa is wanted by Southampton, Arsenal, West Ham and Crystal Palace but for obvious reasons he is more comfortable with a move to West Ham where he is most likely to get more playing time."

It is thought Wolves will want at least £7m for the 20-year-old defender, who featured more times than any other player last season with 46 appearances in all competitions.

Iorfa and Hause both starred in the recent Toulon tournament in France, which has raised their profile even higher.

Meanwhile, Wolves first-team coach Rob Edwards believes that with a couple of additions they are well placed to challenge for promotion next season. Wolves have yet to make a splash in the transfer market but Kenny Jackett is known to want at least two strikers, a left winger, left-back and a goalkeeper this summer.

Edwards, who began the role last summer,

said: "Over the last couple of weeks at the end of the season you start thinking about next season and I'm really looking forward to it. I think we'll have a right go next year.

"Like Kenny has said, if we can add the experience in the right areas there's no reason why we can't.

"If you look through the team there's lots of positives. With the right additions we're looking really positive."
