New forwards the key for Wolves - Kenny Jackett
Revamping Wolves' forward line will be the key to ensuring the team's current form doesn't continue into next season, Kenny Jackett believes.
The Wolves boss said new additions would make a 'massive difference' to his side's fortunes.
Jackett, who has presided over a run of just three wins in 18 matches, thinks Wolves aren't too far away from being a good side.
They've badly struggled for goals of late, with no striker finding the net since February.
Bjorn Sigurdarson, Adam Le Fondre and Joe Mason are all in the midst of scoring droughts. Of that only Mason is expected to still be at the club next season.
And when asked what was needed to ensure that the current woeful run of form isn't repeated at the start of 2016/17, Jackett told the Express & Star: "It's not hard to work out where we need (to strengthen).
"Looking through the team and the combinations right the way through the side, we're short along our front line – that'll make a massive difference.
"For us to make sure that doesn't continue into next year – because if we start a season like that we're going to be at the wrong end of the table, that's easy to see – recruitment in the summer is going to be key.
"And us seeing where we have to build on the strengths that we have.
"We're not where we want to be.
"What we're producing at the moment isn't a winning formula and it isn't necessarily suddenly going to turn into that.
"I do understand and accept that.
"But also there's a lot of strengths here to capitalise on, and we're not a million miles away.
"And if we can readjust and make the right type of additions to compliment what we have, I think that we can turn a mid-table season into a better one, and that's very important."
Jez Moxey last week publicly defended Jackett, said he was blameless for many of the problems Wolves have endured this season.
Has Jackett received similar reassurances about his position in private too?
"Certainly for my bosses, Kevin Thelwell, Jez Moxey and to a degree then Steve Morgan, it's been business as usual," he added.
"It's not something that's necessarily always touched upon, about who and where, going forward, but obviously three wins out of 18, whoever is sat here then there are questions.
"How to improve the team, how to help, getting the best out of what we've got, and then after that looking forward and improving, are the keys."
